Prontera Underground Prison (PUP) – Dungeon Entrance Quest

Type: Dungeon Access Quest

Requirements:

  • 1x Karvodailnirol

Repeatable: Once per account (shared unlock for all characters)

Unlocks: Access to Prontera Underground Prison & Instance Questline

Overview

The Prontera Underground Prison (PUP) Entrance Quest serves as the pre-requisite to access the PUP Dungeon and its Instance storyline.

Once completed, all characters on your account can enter the dungeon without repeating the quest.

If you get stuck at any point, open your Quest Log (Alt + U) — navigation markers will automatically guide you to your next NPC.

Simply follow the glowing navigation lines on the floor to proceed.

Quest Walkthrough

1. Investigate the Rumbling in Prontera Castle

  • Head to Prontera Castle (North Prontera).
  • Upon entering, a message appears:

    “A strange rumbling can be heard from the left side of the castle...”

  • Move downstairs to the left to trigger a cutscene. → Continue through it to progress the quest.

2. Assist the Injured Guards

  • After the cutscene, Advisor Lorian appears and requests your help. He asks you to find Priest Peter to heal the wounded guards.
  • Locate Priest Peter inside Prontera Church → /navi prt_church 103, 66
  • Talk to him, he agrees to meet you at the dungeon entrance.

3. Return to the Dungeon Entrance

  • Head back to the entrance of the Prontera Underground Prison.
  • Speak with Priest Peter, who will heal the wounded soldiers.
  • Once the healing is complete, proceed to the Throne Room of Prontera Castle to report back.

4. Report to Advisor Lorian

  • Find Advisor Lorian in the Throne Room → /navi prt_castlep 76, 165
  • He explains that a mysterious crystal shard was found at the PUP entrance.

5. Meet Professor Morgenstein

⚠️ !Important Note!

The Scroll of Unbinding can be used anywhere — but it will only function correctly at the entrance of the PUP. If you use it outside of the dungeon entrance room, it will be destroyed, and you’ll have to gather the materials again.

10. Unlocking the Dungeon

  • Return to the PUP Entrance Room.
  • Use the Scroll of Unbinding to activate the portal. A brief animation will play, revealing the sealed entrance.
  • The quest completes automatically, and you’ll receive an achievement.

Quest Complete!

You have successfully unlocked the Prontera Underground Prison dungeon.

From now on, all characters on your account can enter freely.
